WHAT are the things I would miss if I were to go blind (which may God forbid)? Well one thing is would miss is light filtering through leaves—what the Japanese call Komorebi. It happens in spring, summer, indeed any time whenever and wherever there are leaves in sunlight. Not sunlight reflecting off the leaves, but coming through them. The leaves light up like a stained glass window. It is such a joy to see. Look for it next evening when the sun is low in the west. <>
